Square of plaster!

Inspired by a book about working with plaster and wax I made this tiny square of 13 x 13 cm.
I scratched the bird and grass into the plaster and coloured all with watercoulors.
The mold for the plaster is made of a piece of cardstock and glue tape putt'n around its edges.
I decorated the passe-partout with flower and butterfly stampings and added a layer of white Gesso.

I absolutely adore your fabulous wax and plaster creation. It is stunning. Your little bird is so well drawn. I love it and admire how well you draw and color. Thank you SO much for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey.

I wanted to follow up on a comment you left on my blog about drawing. I might have misled people who don't know me, but I have NO pinch grip, which is needed to hold a pencil, crayon, etc. I make this kind of art, but I have to stop every few minutes and rest, then rub my hand to unclench it. I appreciate your comment, though, and if I COULD draw, I would practice. It's just nearly physically impossible for me.

Hach, ist das ein süßes Vögelchen! Die Technik würde mich echt noch mehr interessieren, vielleicht kannst du ja mal ein wenig zeigen, wie du das genau gemacht hast. Gefällt mir super gut!

This is a really charming picture, Sabine. I have never come across this method of painting and it looks so good with a lovely interesting surface and pretty colours. I also like your idea of decorating the mount (passe-partout), I will try this sometime.
